What are some great & powerful clical / jazz songs?

Can't say much on the jazz end, but I'd definitely say Holst's "The Planets" suite, especially "Mars, the Bringer of War" for clical. It sounds like it should be the soundtrack for some 70's big-budget sci-fi film. Give it a shot.
