Does software exist for Vista that will allows a file to be renamed automatically before being filed?

If I download one file named 2.xls for example and then download another one with the same name I am looking for a utlity that will allow me to one click download the files and have them stored and remamed in sequential order without rewriting the first file downloaded or having to manually type a new name for the file.
