New tutoring program?

Our volunteer group made up of 8 9th grade girls is trying to set up a tutoring program for elementary school children. I am the one who came up with the idea, and have welcomed feedback from all members. I said we should do it 6-7 in an empty clroom or the library, because after school would not work as all of us participate in sports. In sports we are allowed to stay after but idk how coaches (jv and varsity) will feel about use missing once a week. My friend disagrees and says we should do after school cuz parents of 1st-5th graders won't drive their kids there. I think they will for a purpose, for instance so many families go and spend there money at the book fairs, and pta fair, so y not reap in the benefits of a tutoring program? What is your opinion? Our school is relatively small with probably 600 kids in the elementary school , but obviously only a few will come. Thanks So Much! ♥Cs
