Seeing white light & feeling energy during someones death!?

During the death of a really close family member, i seen white light, not really a single light, everything was pure white like a blank wall! and a surge of over whelming energy starting at my knees moving upward threw my body, i went from being sad to a feeling of peacefulness, a really good feeling like no worries, it was like i has blacked out, i didnt relize it happened until it was over, this is really hard to understand not only i but another person with me felt this samething, it was like we both were out, we looked at each other like what happened, we never really told anyone because peaple would think we are crazy, this was around 6 years ago, has anyone else had this or something like it happen?
