Have you seen the news that the Government was warned 3 years ago about the insecurity of Child Benefit data?

This department has been a shambles from day one. Insufficient thought was put into it's setting up and the staff were not trained properly. It was undermanned and over managed right from the beginning - then staff cuts made it worse!! People have been caused great suffering and hardship by the appalling way this place is run. The system is wide open to fraud both from the claimants and those operating it. As for the lost discs why don't they search all the in trays it will be in one somewhere along with all the claims and paper work they have "lost" over the years. As for the data - no data given to the government is secure - they can sell it to anyone they wish - hence the DVL scandal - Data protection act forget it!! Security what's that!! The quality of those employed in management of these departments is so low it's incredible and the worse they are the more they are paid - do anything wrong and they are transferred to an even higher paid job! Your right the lunatics are in charge of the asylum!!
